¡Hola! The article I read was about possible changes to the Spanish language. The Royal Spanish Academy, the institution that regulates the Spanish language, is thinking about getting rid of accent marks on words like este, "this", aquel, "that", and solo. These words currently have accents for some uses of the words, but with new technology like texting, the accents have just become a pain. They are also thinking of incorporating widely used English words into the Spanish dictionary, such as marquetin, 'marketing", and parquin, "parking". Others have rallied to remove terms used in the Middle Ages that are derogatory to women and Jewish people. The Academy feels that it is important to keep the language modern, so they are working to find the best solutions. Here is a link to the article.

Your current event is very interesting. I would have to imagine that texting with accents would be a pain. Can't wait to see what they end up doing. Nice Job!
